SANYO DENKI 80 mm Counter-Rotating Fan with Industry-Leading Static Pressure

SANYO DENKI has announced the latest addition to its SAN ACE lineup: the 80CRHA Counter-Rotating Fan, engineered to deliver exceptionally high static pressure with straight, stable axial airflow for today’s increasingly dense electronic systems.

As electronic equipment continues to shrink while power density rises, thermal management has become one of the most critical system-level challenges. In many real-world applications, such as GPU servers essential for advanced data processing and AI development, power supplies and industrial electronics, airflow must pass through restrictive elements like heat-sink fins, dense PCBs, filters, and narrow ducts. In these environments, free-air airflow (CFM) alone is not enough.

Why static pressure matters

Static pressure defines a fan’s ability to maintain airflow against resistance. When back pressure increases, conventional axial fans often experience a sharp drop in effective airflow, reducing cooling performance and creating hot spots. High static pressure ensures that air continues to move where it is needed most—deep into heat sinks and across critical components—even in compact or sealed enclosures.

The advantage of straight axial airflow

High-speed axial fans typically generate swirling, turbulent airflow, which can reduce cooling efficiency and increase noise. The SAN ACE 80CRHA counter-rotating design uses two rotors spinning in opposite directions to cancel rotational swirl and convert it into straight, axial airflow. This straightened airflow improves heat-sink utilization, provides more uniform cooling, and enables higher thermal performance per unit volume.

Designed for demanding applications

By combining very high static pressure with straight, focused airflow, the SAN ACE 80CRHA is well-suited for:

  • Servers and data-center hardware
  • Telecom and networking equipment
  • Power electronics and inverters
  • Industrial control systems
  • EV charging and energy infrastructure

This latest counter-rotating fan reflects Sanyo Denki’s continued focus on cooling solutions that address real system constraints—not just laboratory airflow ratings—helping designers maintain reliability as power density continues to rise.
